Battle Levounion

- battle fought April 29, 1091 year in Levounion of Thrace, between the Byzantine army led by Alexius I Comnenus and Petcheneks, completed a crushing defeat of the latte r. In 1086 the Byzantine Empire which threatened Petcheneks in al liance with the Bulgarians. In 1090 the invaders tried to get Constantinople. Petcheneks worked closely with the rover Seljuk Tzachas, speaking in Smyrna and many Aegean islands.
